Let's face it, until you got online and started reading a lot of Internet marketing tutorials, you probably only needed a password for your bank account and your email server. Nightmare? Who can sleep? In bed your mind just keeps powering on like a bus on a hill with no brakes. The first thing you think of in the morning is the project you were trying not to think of last night. You sit down in front of the computer and try to remember where you put that piece of code for your blog. You open a folder or two but all the files are named blog something. You face the inevitable time spent returning to the site to get the code again and get on with it, but at the back of your mind, you are saying "There's got to be an easier way, thousands of people all do this efficiently everyday, so I can too." But the little devil on your other shoulder is whispering that you're losing it in a big way!

You need a way to keep all that information handy and accessible. Use software that is designed to save these tiny tidbits, with a dedicated menu categorised in a way that makes them logical and easy to remember. You need to be able to copy and paste your links and code everyday and therefore you need to collect them all in one place in a form that is easy to find and easy to copy.

Have you ever said I’ll show you that page – and then couldn’t remember its URL correctly? Have you tried to hide a product name, to make it hard to guess for your download folder, and named it PLR58q67fgh485 but then you have to ftp to your site to get it's name and create a link to it? Have you typed an url under text in a hyperlink and not found out till weeks later that you typed htttp, that is three t's instead of two and the link goes to a 404? Or maybe you have simply left off the exclamation mark in a title url (eg. - /Only_FREE_for_you!) when you typed in the url to look at a page, because you forgot that you put it there in the first place.

Does your My Documents Index read like a 'Who's Who' in Internet Marketing? Do you have folders for code, folders with confirmation emails, folders in folders in folders in folders?  If you don't you must be very careful about what you sign up for! Can you find what you have and use it though? If you can't you need a better system.

You need a list of signatures. In affiliate marketing people bend over backwards to make it easy for people to promote their products. If you can get $20.00 a month by simply adding  signatures to a forum post or a blog comment or an email or an article, then isn't it worth the few minutes it takes to add it to them.

Of course it is! But if you have to search through folders and risk getting distracted when you come across a PDF you meant to read, a piece of software you meant to try - well you take my meaning. If your signatures are all in a place where there's only signatures, you will just pick one, paste it in and get on with what you were doing.

Organise and Promote your affiliate links

You need a list of affiliate links; a list with just the link and the html, so that you  can then add this to a relevant blog post or web page. If you are writing a post on web hosting and you signed up to the affiliate program for a host service, you should be able to easily add in a sentence about it. " Oh by the way, I use *** and they've been great for me." You should be able to easily replace those *** with an html link with your affiliate number embedded in it. 

It is important to your sanity and your profits to get organised! If you follow my system and create a list of links, you will be able to do all these things quickly and easily.

Business Organisation is as important to your sanity as paying your bills is. I can only suggest this as a solution and I know you will whinge like a wet hen - ‘I don’t have time for that’ - but what can I say? An hour a day spent getting organised can save you half an hour when you’re creating something with a deadline. In over a month you will have easily gained back that time by being properly organised.

After a few weeks you will have a 'unique to you' system that helps you use what you have and profit from it. It can also save you from many dead links and unexpected error logs on your site that just might have been a sale otherwise. While we're on that subject, don't forget those 404 pages either. Set up a product on them and use your real estate. Real Agents don't let any of their properties stand empty for long.
