Why is a desktop website editor in the Adwords Guides and Tools?

In two words - Landing Pages!

Look, you can do affiliate marketing without your own website, but the Google slap has forever destroyed it's success rate and made the whole game instantly more difficult. Having your own landing page with its attendant satellite pages is more important than ever and although free websites and blogs are an option for beginners, having your own websites on your own domains is the sign of a Super Affiliate and the professional business man's choice.

To make websites fast and easy, I'd like to introduce you to the awesome desktop website editor called XSitePro2.

How you can create websites fast and easy
with the XSitePro2 wysiwyg editor

(wysiwyg = what you see is what you get)

As a beginner, you will be instantly suspicious of any sales pages asking you to fork over $200 or more for a tool of how to create websites of any kind, when you have no idea how it compares to another desktop website editor. You have nothing to guide you in making good choices of website editors or any other software, so you stick with your instincts and take the easier or cheaper options.

This is good self protective behaviour. Until you know more about things, you will have no more idea of what to do with a high power desktop website editor than you would with a low, so you are wise to keep your spending under control until you do. However, time is money as they say.

The one major exception to this self protective behaviour, I feel, from my own experience, is the magnificent desktop website editor XSitePro2.

I started out learning from a book on html and was inordinantly proud to produce "Hello World" on a blank page by using twice as much text as the English language uses. I think of code as Latin because as the lawyers and churches (who use it still) know, its the language that double speaks.

Then I discovered a wysiwyg editor called NVU. If you want to know how you can create websites then, this free website editor, as all wysiwyg website editors do, has a range of display options.

The one that normal people (non-coders) like is the design view, where people can see what they are creating should look like. On a different tab is the html view or the double speak view, where your text is there but enclosed in <> and expanded with small print that instructs the server on the web how to display something or what action to take when it sees something. NVU also has a tag view but I never got my head around that one. The last view is the Preview which shows you what the web page will actually look like when it's on the web. By switching through tabs you have all the options.

I don't know how anyone can create websites effectively by continuing to use NVU. I cut my teeth on its bugs! My first header ended up as a footer and I still have no idea why. I kept getting yellow tags on my page and didn't know what they were for, or how to get rid of them. I got better at it as time went on, but it took a lot of instructions from latin books on html and a few phone calls to a friend with desperate cries for immediate help.

How you can create websites with another wysiwyg editor

I downloaded a free trial of dreamweaver. It was cleaner, the html was sorted by colour into elements so it was easier to pick up mistakes, but it still didn't help me make good web pages. How did I make elements stay on the left or the right, how could I have a footer go across the bottom and how did I make text go to the side of a picture instead of under it. How could I get cool website navigation on every page of the site easily? It was so frustrating.

HyperVRE was another desktop website editor I tried to create websites. I tried the free version of HyperVRE and havn't looked at it since, it made no sense to me. Now one day I may well go back and try again, now I understand what it can do, but a beginner website editor it isn't. I struggled on with NVU, after the dreamweaver trial ended but still kept making mistakes with it. I didn't own Front Page and didn't want to buy office to get it.

Finally, on someone's recommendation, I bought XSitePro1. And I breathed a big sigh of relief. Absolute bliss! A desktop website editor that worked for me.

XSitePro2 is a wysiwyg css editor

How you can create websites with CSS you can see! I read somewhere that CSS was the way to design a site but again the code beat me. Code may be poetry for some people but give me Roger McGeogh anyday! Code is latin to me, and the slow drone of a ceiling fan in a classroom, as a teacher repeats verb forms to the class and lunch time is still an hour away.

This desktop website editor had taken CSS code and transformed it into something visible and useable in a logical and intuitive way. You can use templates for XSitePro but it's so easy to make your own template with this wysiwyg css editor that all you need is an image for a header and maybe a background. I learned to blend adsense ads into a sidebar, to make graphical boxes, to make tables look like pictures, to make cool website navigation menus (links to other pages on the side).

I didn't do it by reading help documents, or by looking through books of latin on a quest for the right doublespeak to make them work. I did it by using right click menus and icons, by experimenting and trying out what they did.

There were things I didn't like. You could not separate images into a folder easily, you had to publish all in one and then hand link them into the folder with absolute urls. You couldn't get the publish to website function to work with add on domains (well I couldn't anyway). The code was a mass of black and you sometimes had other glitches to contend with. But nothing else ever tempted me to make another change. XSitePro, even with these faults, was twice as good as any other desktop website editor.

XSitePro2 Keeps Your Affiliate Information Organized

XSitePro2 makes inserting links and keeping track of affiliate information really easy. It can store your links and you can make free form notes for affiliate programs you are a member of. It also enables you to insert an affiliate text link into your pages with just a couple of clicks of your mouse. It's annoying to have to insert a link several times in your pages, but it can't get easier than this.

It is very easy to forget which programs you have joined, to lose the username and password details you need to enter the affiliate admin areas, and to spend far too much time hunting around for the affiliate link code you were sent when you first signed up for the affiliate scheme. By keeping all your information stored inside XSitePro2 you know where it at all times and you also know it gets backed up when XSitePro2 prompts you to do so.

How you can create websites with XSitePro2

It's about a month ago now, that XSitePro2 came out and my first project with it has been to build this site, to experiment with one of it's new features called siloing. You can see it at work when you click on the Adwords Overview link at the top. Look at the left navigation menus and what happens when you mouse over them. It completely revolutionizes the way the navigational menus look and its just awesome. It's modern, professional and optimized.

Just as the first version made CSS easy, so siloing has made cool website navigation easy. I wish I could as easily get over the message of just how powerful this feature is.

The thing is that as a beginner you won't know what these website navigation techniques do or specifically why you will want to use them. You will only know what you would like to do when you find out how you can create websites. If you only knew how now!

You think that education is the key, not the tool. If you've shelled out for Dreamweaver or use Front Page you may think you are already using the best product for you to use and I'm not knocking them, they are good products, but they are not XSitePro2.

This isn't something for people who just want to edit a webpage. Simply open the html file in notepad and type in your changes, or open in Dreamweaver or Front Page and edit in the display or source view, no problem. You can even make a html page using MS Word by simply saving it as an html document. It won't be clean html, but it will work ok.

XSitePro2 is web SITE creation software. How you can create websites - not a web page, not even two or three webpages - but web sites, that is sites with lots of pages. Hundreds of pages if you want.

XSitePro2 solved the images in a folder issue, separated the black code into neat colours like dreamweaver, has a toybox fit for royalty and some very nice new templates to try out.

XSitePro2 has a video that makes it easy to see the fantastic features it has to offer. Click the blue link, watch the Feature Video on the left hand side of this page and see 80 more reasons why to buy XSitePro v2.

A wysiwyg css editor can mass change a times new roman font to a verdana font on all web pages with one click.

What if you want to edit several pages of a site? Let me give you an example. You've been reading about font differences. The font you have been using is times new roman and you just discovered this isn't the favoured option for online reading and you want to change your font to the verdana font on web pages. Page by page, and paragraph by paragraph, you can select the text and convert it all to verdana font on your web pages. Lots of work.

If you have used a word processor for some time you may have learned how to set paragraph text to normal and headers to a specific header size (with a tag) using the font size or format choice selection drop down in the editor. If this has been done, a single change on a selection with this menu can convert a heading to a different format. With CSS every paragraph of normal text across all pages in your website can be converted to verdana font on web pages with that same one choice. This is done with the use of CSS information. You don't need to study up on what it is, or how to code it, you only need read the manual from XSitePro on how to enable it to work for you across the pages of your website.

Sidebars and header areas can be altered across a website using CSS in the same way with XSitePro2. You don't need to add a header picture to every page, just to one segment, and every page references the CSS page and includes its design and choices on all your pages. With XSitePro2 you now have the choice to have three header areas which is just fantastic.

You have the main graphic header area. Underneath it is a section with a menu option that is the same width across the top as your header graphic area. You can use it for home, contact us, blog or forum links or use it for advertising or to extend a graphic if you choose. You also have a smaller header area at the top of your page area that does not cross into the sidebar.

XSitePro2 makes cool website navigation

So far as website navigation techniques goes, for a big site with many subtopics, navigation has been a nightmare to get right. As you compose the articles, and you subcategorize them into topics, then you needed to set an absolute url for each link, and manually sort them into the subtopic folders. Alternatively you are left with a long listing of articles in the sidebar that is intimidating to a reader.

This is where the siloing feature comes in. This is the coolest of website navigation techniques. Once you have composed the articles and sorted them via the tree menu navigation system, you set up the site siloing feature. This automatically sorts your articles into folders via the structure you have already given them and writes the correct navigational links for them.

Again, as a beginner, you cannot have the concept in your mind to understand why that is so important, so allow me to explain just a little more.

The computer revolutionised the way that people search for data. If you recall a library index with it's card system, or think of an index at the back of a physical book, this is how people found what they were looking for. Huge volumes of printed data indexed in a way to find the single item on the topic you are looking for information on.

I remember it well from running a special orders office in a large city bookshop.

We had four huge volumes indexing American books in print, four huge volumes of English publications and a single smaller volume indexing Australian publications. To find a title of a book we needed to look through these to discover the publisher we needed to order a book from. If the customer had the title slightly wrong, especially if the first word was wrong, we would not find it.

With data managing software and computer databases, this same type of index can now be searched with two keywords, with one if necessary but you get a better filtering of results with two. The process is easiest with a cross reference combination of an author sir name and a single key word from a title. This same process is the basis for search engines. The seeker enters in keywords and has a listing of results to choose from that include them. Really cool website navigation!

What this essentially means for you though, is that the point of entry to your site can be any page of your site. Not just the home page visited by url. When each page bears a single different keyword combination especially alongside a common keyword, the opportunity to get the right relevant result expands. Your site can show search engines with your keyword combination choices, that you have a huge range of related data. Keyword similes can bring extra traffic from real people, and the chances of your seeker finding you increase greatly with this cool website navigation.

By siloing your keyword articles, these index or website navigation techniques helps the search engines to help you get clients. Its cost effective internal seo at its best. And XSitePro2 excels at easy insertion of related website navigation page links. The option to make an internal link is just a right click away.

Can you create website navigation page by page? Of course you can, people have created web sites page by page for years! But imagine, on a sunny day when the kids want to go to the beach, and the wife wants you to fix a few broken boards in the decking. Would you prefer to have a handsaw or a power saw? A handsaw will get the job done, but leave no time for the beach. A power saw allows you to have the best of both worlds. A happy wife and happy kids. A fixed deck and an ocean swim to cool off afterwards.
